Nifty Realty index crashed 4% to hit over two-month low on September 11 amid broad-based selloff in markets.
Godrej Properties, Lodha Developers, Prestige Estates led the losses in the sectoral index by falling 6.2%, 6% and 4.6%, respectively.
At 9:56 am on September 11, Nifty Realty index was trading 4.36% lower at 834.
Other losers in the sectoral index are Oberoi Realty, DLF, which fell 4.24% and 3.83%, respectively.
The fall in real estate shares comes as US producer-price-inflation data published Thursday showed renewed pressure from rising energy prices last month, potentially adding to the case for a Fed rate hike next week.
