EU spirits export sales declined 6% last year, hit by pressure on two of the sector's main markets – the US and China.
Sales reached €8.26bn ($9.6bn) in 2025, according to data published by trade association SpiritsEurope, which pointed to the impact of reduced business with the two countries.
Export sales to the US slid 9% last year to €2.5bn as the Trump administration first issued 10% tariffs on EU products including spirits before raising the measures to 15%.
EU distillers' sales to China tumbled 15% to €608m amid Beijing's introduction of duties, principally on brandy and Cognac, after claiming distillers were dumping products on the market.
SpiritsEurope also cited pressure on consumer confidence in both markets.
