Gold (GC=F) December futures opened at $4,448 per troy ounce on Thursday, September 10, 2026, down 0.3% compared to Wednesday's closing price. The price of gold edged lower this morning, trading at $4,439.70 as of 6:35 a.m. ET.
Gold prices have opened and closed daily sessions so far this week within a narrow band around $4,400. Investors are awaiting the Producer Price Index (PPI) and Consumer Price Index (CPI) data due today and tomorrow for one final look at prior inflation data before the Fed meets for its two-day rate-setting meeting starting on Tuesday.

Attacks on ships this week from both the U.S. and Iran have sent crude future prices back above $100 a barrel. As of 6:30 a.m. ET, crude futures were $101.97 a barrel.
