Renewable energy company Sonnedix has secured $1.3bn (1.22tn pesos) through a refinancing transaction to speed up its renewable energy and storage pipeline in Chile.

The agreement covers the refinancing of 1GW of operational solar and wind assets in Chile and provides funding for 117MW of battery energy storage systems (BESS) currently being built.

This arrangement brings both geographic and technological variety to Sonnedix's portfolio in the country.

According to the company, the transaction represents Sonnedix Chile's largest refinancing to date.

The refinancing is supported by a portfolio that delivers stable and predictable income, backed by a combination of investment-grade private power purchase agreements and regulated revenue streams.
