Global payments firm MoneyGram has launched a stablecoin-backed card that lets users hold a U.S. dollar-denominated balance and spend it anywhere that Visa (NYSE: $V) is accepted.
The new "MoneyGram Card" is only available in the South American country of Colombia, with plans to expand to other markets in coming months.
Consumers can sign up for the card on MoneyGram's app and use it to spend online and in retail stores. They can also send money to themselves for cash pickup at MoneyGram locations.
